Under table recepts

Have a client that I'm doing a few TI items for on 3 floors of their building. One of the Items that they want done is to use a line of tables from IKEA as workstations and install a quad recept under each workstation w/ exposed work covers.

First question is... would this be legal to do in MC? and second is there a prefabbed exposed work box available for this??

We had a customer who needed power for their caterers when they used their confrence room table--we used surface mounted wiremold.

I inspected some work like this for tables similar to Ikea. One method was to install power poles to the locations. Of course the other method was Poke-thru receptacles from below.

Thanks Pierre. There are going to be 60 workstations. Would the MC under the the table be legal if all the tables were fixed together? The power pole solution won't work for this customer because they want the room to look wide open and since there are 60 workstations the poke thru's would be expensive and labor intensive for the time frame that we have to work with.

why not just run thinwall conduit instead of wiremold? i am assuming this stuff
is going to be ran underneath the tables if you're using quad outlets with a
raised cover, emt isn't gonna be any worse looking than thinwall, alongside of
4s boxes......
