Is there any restriction to installing an undercabinet light fixture above a sink? I do commercial work and we have sinks in kitchens, labs, work areas, breakrooms, etc., for which it would be convenient to have light over the sink. I usually use an Alcko "Little Inch" fluorescent undercabinet fixture. I've never heard of a restriction but have always avoided it.

I don't know of any.

In an attempt to locate something, I searched the 2011 NEC for "sink". Search did not find the word "sink" between Article 100 Defintions and 210.8 or between 210.52 and 550.13. Mentions between 210.8 and 210.52 are regarding receptacles or spacing thereof.
