I have pumps FOP-1A & FOP-1B (per attached image), controlled by a duplex controller on first floor. Should I put the cables in separate conduits? The engineer indicated underground electrical lines "E" separately. The PDF is more legible!

Thanks a lot.

Steve

You need to ask the EE.

The separate lines lines do not automatically mean separate conduits.

Pumps are only 1 Hp so not real large conductors, but you would have to de rate for more than 4 CCCs in one raceway.

Unless EE specs single raceways, it would be up to EC to figure out best/cheapest way to do job.

One thing I forgot to mention is that one of the pumps is "stand-by"; is there a requirement to still derate?
Thanks

Only when another pump is disabled

Okay, let me use pumps 1A and 1B as an example.

If the conductors for both pumps are in one raceway, but only one pump can run at any time, usually an AHJ wants a mechanical means to ensure this, then the conductors would not have to be derated nor would both pumps be needed to be in a load calculation.

I can look up code reference if needed.
