Hello Everyone,

I'm working on a project where my local Utility company (LIPA) has allowed us to have an 800A 208Y/120V service from pole mounted transformers. The run is about 50' from the pole into building. The catch is that the secondary cables coming into building will be about 1 foot over water table. The building itself will be raised about 4ft so I am not too worried once I reach the site. I am worried about the run before it hits the site. Is having cables that could potentially be underwater OK? Has any else run into this problem?

thanks

Is this in conduit or cable?

If this is in conduit then as long as the conductors installed in the conduit are listed for use in a wet location you are fine. (Conduits underground are defined as wet locations see the definition in Article 100)

Also a direct bury cable is fine where installed below the water table.
