Underground wiring for pool

I know this subject has been discussed before but I lost track of the final answer. Is all of the underground conduit required to comply with T. 680.10 or just the conduit within 5 feet of the pool? Since that is the only depth table in Article 680 and I see no reference to Article 300 T. 300.5 I've concluded we stay in Article 680??

Re: Underground wiring for pool

My take on this is that it pertains to all underground wiring.

Edit. The chart in 680 mirror the one at 300.5

Russ, I'm not sure I'd agree with you that 680 mirrors 300 in all respects. There is no provision in 680 for a shallower depth if the conduit is under cement. I like that because I've inspected pools where they had to replace the cement deck and the original installaton of the conduits was not 18" and the result was, replacing the conduits that were damaged when the old deck was removed. What do you think?

I only ment that the limited portion in 680 is the same as 300.5 for the same raceways.

That seems to be the heart of the matter. If you don't leave Article 680, we are left with the table in 680 and IMHO I think thats what the code wants us to do.
