Ungrounded Equipment

I am trying to find a code that states the use of ungrounded equipment in an industrial building is either acceptable or not. There are several personal fans in our facility that are the standard home use 2 prong connector (ungrounded). Also we use some other 2 wire equipment. All is UL approved as manufactured, but I have concerns over the use in this facility. It would be easier to have them removed if I could cite a code that says it is not acceptable.

You won't find what you seek in the NEC. It permits the use of 2-prong equipment, when there is no metal outer case that could become energized.

No, I don't believe you will find a prohibition on the fans. We have a number of old dinosaurs at our site also. Prep your wiring for receiving three-prong fans and the old ones will slowly die or fade away.
