I have a breaker sub-panel that references a number of brands of branch circuit breakers that can be installed:

COMPATIBLE CIRCUIT BREAKER TYPES:
? Siemens QAF (arc fault), QFH, QE, QEH, QFP, QNR, QNRH, QP, QPH, QF, QT, QPF (GFCI), QSAP (Surge Protector), HQP
? Cutler-Hammer/Westinghouse Series BD, BR, BQ, GFC
? Square D Series HOM
? GE Series THQL, THHQL

I wasn't aware that it was possible to accommodate all these types with one interior due to different plug in styles.

I don't have any markings on this panel so I can't figure out who its made by but I was wondering if anyone knows of such a panel that can accept breakers from a number of manufacturers?

Thanks!

I have seen these labels in equipment made by companies like Milbank and Midwest Electric. I know of no manufacturer of both loadcenters and breakers that does this.

Sounds like an electrician's dream panel, and an inspector's nightmare.

I'd like to see an inspector's face both before and after him reading the labeling. :D

a lot of pool panels accommodate various types of breakers.

and there are some that only take a specific type.

A manufacturer that makes panels only, has an interest in getting their panel UL Listed with as many different breakers as possible.

A manufacturer of breakers needs them listed (or classified) with as many panels as possible.

A manufacturer of both breakers and panels wants their listings limited to their equipment only.

I bid a job this summer, the MDP was a FPE. During the walk through (I was the only EC bidding the job:D) I pulled the panel cover off to make sure I quoted the right breaker to feed a sub panel, as the building was built in the '60s. And lo, the panel was full of GE breakers. I checked the other panels in the equipment room and the same thing, FPE panelboards w/GE breakers. I discussed this with a salesman at the supply house that quoted material for the job, he said this was unusual but it used to be more common, and the job was probably spec.ed that way when the building was originally built. Has anyone ever seen this before?
