I have a airhandler that has the wires comeing from the disconect to the unit protected in greenfield. Attached to the unit is a junction box where the wires enter the unit. They are THHN and are physicaly unprotected. The wires enter the pecker head through a chase nipple, then terminated with wire nuts. Access to this area is through a hinged door. Dosen't look right to me. Any help !!!!

Are you saying conductors are exposed inside the air handler to another enclosure within the air handler where electrical controls are located? If not what you are talking about then the following doesn't apply to your installation:

Don't you just love how they design them that way? I don't know if that is how they intend for us to supply them but I know exactly what you are talking about and it just doesn't look right. Why can't they put the wiring enclosure right next to outer cabinet walls and eliminate this from happening in the first place.
