Unsealed gap exterior wall mounted fixture

Trying to find the requirement to seal gap between stucco and light fixture.

AFAIK there is none... at least no explicit requirement.

Not to my knowledge in NEC. Perhaps some energy or local code!

I've seen some lighting manufacturers specify using silicone to seal around fixture base.

Which in turn allows the NEC to enforce those specifications.
