I do some PLC control that really are pretty basic programs. I do consider myself a beginner, especially when I visit a forum dedicated to it.
Last fall we did a pretty simple existing grain system with the owner and operator telling us what they would like. The owners comment of "ideally I would like..." pushed us from simple interlock of starters to something more fun with a small plc with small HMI. Both around $300 each. To shorten the story the owner had opted for a nicer HMI to be installed later. Add a $1700 HMI some hours programming and we have a pretty impressed duo complete with email and or text messaging. We put a ball gown on a pig but it sure works. Fun.
