in the process of looking to upgrade a customers service to accommodate 80A worth of Solar generation, we discovered the customer has a 400a Meter Socket with parallel service conductors feeding it. Our plans were to upgrade to a 200A meter main combo with 200A feed through lugs for the house supply, 100A double pole for a separate garage feed, and load side taps for the Solar interconnection. All the service equipment is located on an H-Post assembly before heading to there respective service panels. The customer would like us to preserve the 400A meter socket if possible. Looking for other options without increasing the cost too much. Anybody got any ideas?

The description of the existing equipment configuration is unclear, how about a one-line diagram? Sounds like it may be possible to intercept conductors from the "H-Post" to interconnect the PV, whether that is a supply side connection or a feeder interconnection.

Cheers, Wayne

Looked into Nema 3R 200A panel with feed thru lug kit but you can't find the lug kits right now

Does your utility use ring type or ringless? Square D makes a 200a solar ready (225a buss) meter main combo with 8/16 loadcenter and feedthrough lugs. Have a couple here but theyre ring type.
