This is a great means to share electrical info to other forum members. To do this follow the instructions below.

Set up a gmail account by going to gmail.com and click create an account. Once your have created an account (it's free) you need to click on the "document" tab-- the black bar across the top below the browser address bar.

On the top left you should see 2 orange icons that are close together. Click the right icon to upload a file.

Choose the file from your hard drive to upload. It will ask if you want to change the format-- unclick the chooses and hit start upload. This will leave it as the type file you are uploading otherwise it will convert to google docs.

When the upload is complete click the icon that says "Share". The default is private but you may want to choose "Anyone with a Link" then select "save". Now if you click on the uploaded document file it should open it up. Copy the address and paste it for anyone else to use. Then can even download the file.

Hope this helps

I upload a Hooters calendar for all those interested.Use this Link - don't worry. I can upload any file from my computer using this and share with anyone. Often time we can't email an entire program but we can upload to google docs and send the link for others to download.

Also if you have some interesting electrical files or diagrams that are word docs, excel spreadsheets etc. You can upload and view here and decide if you want to download it.

We have used Windows Live to keep everyone posted on job progress. The foreman updates a spreadsheet daily with what has been worked on and we can look at it and generate progress reports without e-mail,faxes or calls. Excell works a bit better in Windows Live, it retains much more functionality. I looked at Google docs before setting up the Windows live system.
