Just not clear on how this makes sense. Currently have abdHLP panel with existing 15,20a loads…very fee 30a loads. These loads will nowbe feed from a new HLP panel in a building about 300’ away. SO they want us tointercepts these branch circuits and run them to the new panel. A few questions.
If these currently small loads that are close to theexisting panel I’m sure they are #12’ and #10’s for the 15 &20A loads. Howthe heck could we splice to #4’s from #10’s or 12’s.? I understand they seem towant this for voltage drop and derating but the upsize seems like a lot.
So..
1. Could you splice from #12’s to #4’s? What would you landthe wire on before landing on the panel breaker as you can’t terminate #4’s ona 20a breaker?
2. The upsizing seems awful large for these loads, which we don’tknow what they are.
