URD for underwater feeder?

As I understand... URD is for underground "wet" locations but...there is an existing 4 wire run (1000') used for underwater feeders to a island residence.
I haven't seen any code preventing or allowing the use of this product in this way (except 555.13). This run has developed several breaks and I am wondering if this product is wrong for this application. This wire is in conduit to 3' under water (no tide). The rest of the run is laid on the bottom of the lake. Replacement with "Marine Wire" is prohibitively expensive. Investigating options...would like some input from the "pool of experience".
As always... thanks for your input.

Re: URD for underwater feeder?

If the cable is under a lake and is continuous (without splices), I fail to see a real problem. If it is under an estuary with its inherent salt water, I see a problem. If it is laid on the lake bottom where hooks, anchors, or debris can damage the cable, I see a problem. If it is laid on the lake bottom inside a conduit system like schedule 80 PVC, I don't see a problem. :D

I agree with your Charlie. I see nothing in the post that says you need a 1000' fish tape. It says the total run is 1000'. :p
