Thanks Roger I have read that artical earlier but was not sure I believe I found the answer in artical 334.30(c) and the answer is 6 ft
Thanks !!!!!!

Re: USE installed as a feeder

I agree that it is 6' but you would not need to use 334, it is stated in 338.10(B)(4) in the "Type USE" paragraph.

From an errata sheet for the 02 edition, I believe 338.10(B)(4)(b) was changed. The part "Type USE shall be permitted ..... shall not exceed 1.8m (6 ft.)" was deleted. Is this correct?

Yes, you are correct, see the Errata here

Re: USE installed as a feeder

As has been pointed out, there is "Errata" in the first printing of the NEC. You can tell if you have the first printing, by opening the cover. On the inside of the cover is a length of numbers - if the last number on the right hand side (closest to the binding) is 1, then you have the first printing and need to download the errata sheets, as this is not the only mistake that was printed.

USE is not permitted indoors.
UL White Book - " Types USE and USE-2 are not suitable for use in premises or aboveground ex
cept to terminate at the service equipment or metering equipment."
