Use of cable types

Currently a type CM cable is being used to deliver a 4-20mA signal to multiple instruments.(i.e....pressure indicators, flow valves, temperture transmitters) The cable is installed in solid bottom cable tray. Is this acceptable and can the cable be installed exposed from the cable tray to the various instruments? Thanks for you input.

Re: Use of cable types

CM is only part of the cable type. Are there some other letters on the cable?
What else is in the tray?
What type of occupancy is it?
If the CM cable is the only cable in the tray, it may be ok. If there are other cables, then it depends on what they are, and what the CM cable really is.
