The Maintenance mechanics want us to make up extension cords. With gang boxies with GFCI receptacles on them. So that they can plug more than one tool at a time. So they don't have to keep walking the 20 to 30 feet to plug in a different tool. I told them that I was real sure that the code stated that the cord from a tool had to be continous. By rules of the NEC. I have check with Cooper Crouse-Hinds. About just the type of multipal outlet set up. Their rep. told me just what I had thought to be true. He couldn't get a UL listing on a device like that.
Because it was against Art.501.14 and 502.10.
Because this was a Div. I area we were talking about.
I just wanted to make sure that I was correct. Looking for imput.
