One of my co-workers told me that HCF cable can't be used to feed recepticles connected to emergency power. Is this true?

Jim,

HCF is Type AC cable, since the jacket is a listed grounding path. MC cable jacket is not suitable for grounding.

Vinchenzo, he/she is correct in the 2002 nec cycle, see 517.30(C)(3)

There are added exceptions in the 2005, that will add some allowances.

Roger,

After reading 517.30(C)(3)I came to the same conclusion but was hoping that I was missing something. Oh well - live and learn! Thanks everyone.
