Is there any code issue with using terminal strips in a condulet in a Class 1 Div 2 area? The condulet is rated for the area and the signals are 24 VDC signals to open the valves on a fire suppression system.

I think the answer can be found in whether you are allowed to install terminals in a condulet at all, regardless of the area classification.

There are rules for IEC Zones, but not in the US domestic rules, Division or Zone. As petersonra points out the NEC prohibitions, if any, would depend on whether the terminal strips are permitted in the first place. This would largely be dependent on volume.

IEC Zone rules would add that the terminals be self-locking and vibration free.
