Any body useing 250 AL Ser cable for a 200 amp service in a house ?
Or are you useing conduit with single cables in it?
Or is SER even allowed in a house?
I have been doing quite a bit of commercial since the code change. So I am not sure what people started useing.
I do have some houses coming up though.

Locally they are using a 300kcmil AL SER for interior installs to conform with local AHJ's interpretation of 338.10
(Where possible E/Cs are using conduit and THHN/XHHW)

My supply house is not carrying the 250mcm. I have heard the county next to me that the EC are getting around 5k for a 400amp service due to the fact they are having to pipe it in and poco requires the meter base to accept 4" cond. Still using 4/0al se for back to back service.

Wow...................that sucks!!

I haven't priced it myself, but I'd wonder if 4/0 Aluminum MC might be a cost effective option to using conduit or that oversized SER cable?

Maybe it'd take to long to get or you'd have to order a whole reel of it....
