Is there anything in the Code that states that you cannot use a larger (more spaces) panel rated at 200A and feed it with a 150A breaker, thereby allowing more breakers at a lower amperage?
I installed a 200A sub-panel in a pool house and the pool company wants to pull power from the main panel up line. The main panel approved by the local utility is only 200A. This was originally set up for feeding the 200A sub panel that I installed. I am assuming I cannot use a service with distribution and install a 200A breaker as the main AND a 50A breaker to supply power the the pool controller panel.
Maybe someone could also recommend a panel that would be appropriate for this type of scenario. Thanks!
