Using Article 220-83

I have a 179 unit apartment house with existing 70 amp 120/208 volt single phase panel in each unit. The owner wants to install washer and dryers in each unit and delete the laundry room. Using 220-83A the addition of the washer and dryer exceeds the 70 amp feeder. This building has a boiler system for both the hot water and heat. Can I use the 220-83A load calculation to determine the new feeder size and then the new service requirement? Or do I need to start over using 220.III?

If the way you figured the load, & it exceeds to 70 amp feed. Go ahead & figure by any of the approved methods. Turn one unit on with everything going & see what the actual load is. Be Careful to see if the overall service can handle the additional load!!
