Using Flex Metal Conduit as a raceway an not as an Equipment Grounding Conductor.

Is it code compliant to use Flexible Metal Conduit Type FMC as a raceway longer than 6 feet, provided an equipment grounding conductor is included with the circuit wires. I want to bring it across an attic 15 feet from an LB to a box in a kitchen soffit.

My understanding is this is compliant because I would not be using the Flex as the equipment grounding conductor.

250.118 will tell when you'll need a wire type EGC in FMC.

The six foot limit only applies to the max length if you are using it as an equipment ground. If you pull a green the maximum length is limitless.

For 15 feet I would rather use MC than pull wire through FMC. Assuming it has to be armored.
