Using PLFA cable for other systems

Is there anything in the NEC that would prevent using scrapes of red PLFA cable for other systems such as low voltage occupancy sensors or maybe key card access? thanks

Maybe for class 2 circuits.

It is not a chapter 3 wiring method.

Nothing that I know of but IMO it would be bad practice. When I see red wire I like to believe it's FA.

But then again I have always said that CAT5 or 6 should only be used for data and you know how that worked out.
