Now being in maintenance instead of new construction haven't done any serious large wire pulls in awhile . I see the new wire that says type QI or SIM does not require wire lube . Was wondering does anyone still use the wire lube when pulling these type of cables ?

I just used simpull

I just used simpull

I just used simpull wire and I would not want to add any lube, it pulled great but had to use grip gloves on the pushing end it was that slippery.

If there is gravity involved in the pull and you let go it will fall out of the pipe, out the door and across the street. Slippery stuff
POCO's here hate it for their pole mounted meter loops, wire wants to fall out of the pipe much easier then other types. Underground pulls they mostly use URD - which I haven't seen yet in a no lube type of conductor. If they are pulling long or hard runs they just use boom truck to pull with anyway.
