UT Masters Exam

I'm getting ready to re-take the code portion of the Utah Master exam, and I'm a little confused about what to study up on. I was getting questions about the internal workings of microphones and how far a smoke detector needs to be from a sprinkler head(Is that supposed to be NFPA 72?) It's an open book code test, but I couldn't find a lot of the questions in the code book. I felt very well prepared for the exam before I took it, haha. Does anyone have any Test prep recommendations?

What part of UT are you from?

I have not talked to anyone who has taken the Masters exam since the state went with the new testing agency, so I really don't know what is on the test. I have some study material based on the old test.

I am amazed that the masters exam code section would have questions regarding codes not on the list of reference material.

I'm in Payson. The exam seemed more like regulation of trade than testing trade knowledge. Maybe I'm just bitter from failing the first time. I used the snapz exam prep and was getting 95%- 100% on those exams.... I called the contractor center in SLC, and the owner said he wasn't aware of anyone passing it yet.

I'm gonna pick up Mike Holts test prep, and study hard for a few more months, then I'll be unstoppable. It won't do me any good to cry about the test material not matching up at all with the 4 year Apprenticeship program material. What did you use as a study aid?
