A friend of mine had their boiler go this week on them. They've converted from oil to gas and asked me to do the wiring ASAP. (It's cold and snowy in the Northeast believe it or not). ANYWAY, I have very little experience wiring boilers.

I have to go there tomorrow so just trying to get a head up before I go. It's a Utica Boiler, model number MGB100JD. Is everything prewired on boilers like this and I just have to run power and a thermostate (or thermostats) or do I have to do all the other wiring on it? Like low water cut off, etc.... ANY insight will be helpful trust me! lol

Thanks

Need a little more info. Cast iron or high efficiency boiler? Multiple zones? Zone valves or zone pumps?

They are not that hard. Manual will have instructions for wiring up the 120V. If it is not a high efficiency then most likely it will need power to the boiler only. The super efficient copper core have a couple of outboard pumps.

I always set a extra 24V transformer for the t-stats if there are multiple zones and zone valves.

Thanks Dave,

It is a high effeciency boiler yes. I would think it will be prewired. Going there now so will let you know.

Thanks again
