Sent Con-Edison load letter 4 months ago for 2 different multi-family buildings to request to upgrade the electrical service and they are still working on providing the service determination. No point of entry meeting yet.

They haven't provided me with service determination or short circuit information within these 4 months,

Does anybody know what's going on behind the scenes? Why is this taking so long?

Short staffed. No incentive to work faster.

I have a request in and it’s longer than 4 months, I think they forgot about it. I should follow up but that online portal is a pain.

They auto rejected me on a request ones because it didn’t quite fit a normal install. I responded to the rejection “I need to talk to a human, please have a human call me.”

Our clients keep asking me what's taking so long and it's making us look bad. We follow up with Con-Ed every month and they say the same thing over and over again vaguely saying that they are "working on it". My boss and I got fed up. He knows someone in the higher ups at Con-Edison and that guy admitted they are short staffed as well...

I cannot submit final plans to DOB electrical plan review without Con-Edison's point of entry meeting and service determination. I need Con-Edison's approval on service end box, meter bank and service switches locations and to determine if existing service is adequate. I keep having to constantly tell our clients that Con-Edison hasn't yet finalized their service determination.

Are supply chain and the pandemic still in style excuses. Maybe sprinkle in those as a change of pace :)

If they are short staffed, I'd rather do the engineering for them if they'd let me. Can't be that hard!
What's the longest it took for them to give you a service determination?
