Well I was recently on a job in Southern CA installing some feeders underground. And this job happens to be a farm which mostly grows fruit but has several animals as well.We laid about 500' of 4" PVC and then began pulling some 2 AWG conductors through. At about 200' it began to get difficult...Enter Jake the donkey. The owner was there and his machine was busy so he offered his donkey for the interim. We used it for about 150' and then it became to difficult for him....So we got the machine and finished it off(the wire pull that is).the donkey was certainly a waste of time but....wow it was pretty humorous!
I will try to upload some pics tomorrow.

Was he the donkey from Shreck? The flying talking donkey?? I once used a painter to help with a wire pull and the rope broke the painter broke his ankle and sued the company. Does a painter count as an animal??

Jesse,

In the 70's I used my VW "Beetle" for a pull,
but that is not exactly an "Animal".

Never used a DONKEY but it sounds like a hoot!

Send a picture, and you will never live it down.

When I was young I thought all my bosses were asses so I don't see how having a Donkey for a helper could be all that bad. Just make sure he's covered by workman's comp. because he may hurt his back pulling cable and then those animal rights groups will be all over you. :D:D Jake will be a master electrician in no time.
