utilzation equipment? per 2008 code

The switch does not actually "use" the electricity - it contols it. In its most basic concept, utilization equipment converts electricity into another form, like a stove converts electricity into heat or a motor into electromechanical.

Better and I could make the case for it if I had to since it "uses" the elctricity to make heat, but its real purpose is still control. There's an even better answer that I suspect the question was looking for.

I think Bob is hinting at a definition of 'utilization' being 'uses'.

Why, are you making your choices?

Indeeed garbage disposal is the "correct" answer - but not because it is equipment; so were all the other items listed. See the definition of equipment in Art 100.
