Hi all

I have 48 v, 10w solenoid valve but how can I calculate its ampere??can i use power law?? I=10/48??
because I need to calculate solenoid current(amp) at 10% of 48v(43.2v) ???

Most probably it is DC in which case the OP's method of calculation is okay.

In it's simplest form,,it would be as you state I=W/E. HOWEVER, two things you need to take into account.
If you are changing you input voltage, it is not as simple as just changing "E".
The constant value is the resistance so it takes more calculations.
Secondly, with solenoid operations you will have an inrush current that needs to
be taken into consideration.
