The work clearance per 110.26 for a 5kV switch is 5 feet (2400V to ground). What happens when you put that switch in an underground vault where the intent is to operate the switches via a hot stick from the relative safety of, standing in the open above the vault.
Do you, for example still need to have 5 feet of horizontal space from the front of the switch to other side of the vault? I would think that you'd want at least 5 feet of maneuverability anyway, but would still be interested in the letter of the law on this?
