Vertical RMC conduit

On industrial gas facility, crew was told to install conduit from bottom of IJB up 12' to below cable tray. On other projects we normally run conduit up then to tray horizontally. But in this case the conduit is vertical, after cable is installed will be installing duct seal at top, at bottom of conduit there is a low point drain. My question is, is there anything in the code book that would prohibit this vertical run? Thanks
