Does a room where surgery takes place require anything special? I am asking due to oxygen being used in the room. The customer is particularly concerned with the receptacles and light switch.
Roger,
Too funny. I was going to make a crack and/or ask a question about whether it was for animals or humans.
I missed the veterinary part too on the first go around. Luckily I didn't ask my question! It was right there in the subject line, but I missed it until just now
To the OP, regardless of the NEC please make sure you make the OR safe for the Doc & his staff It sounds like you may have more leeway than your average OR.
In my first post (before I edited it) I was using an OR as covered by article 517. There are no special provisions for the use of oxygen in these rooms. Some do use isolated power systems but the days of extensive grounding and mounting devices above 5' as in a "hazardous area" (when ether was used) is in the past.
