VFD control Wire requirement

I usually hardwire connect all the VFD or soft starters enable signals to a MCR contact that closes when the MCR is on its "active" state this way if I shut down the MCR because an Estop all electronic controls are shut down , I also have PLC outs and in some cases ethernet commands that normally control those VFD's and Soft starters starts and stops , my question is , is there any code requirement that states we need to hardwire the enable signal for these electronic controllers, or is it only a part of best practices? I reviewed the NEC but can't find something that specifically addresses that , thanks

It is neither code nor best practice. Just what many people do.

The NEC is an installation standard, what you want may be in a NEMA or IEC document
