We use a vfd to control a motor 1200rpm 480v 7.5 hp which is a eurodrive connected to a geardrive to turn a conveyor belt @ 12.50 - 15.00 hz. A low cost vfd is used and from time to time it will trip out at over current at constant speed. We have used a fluke 337 to take amp reading and it is only 8.5 amps. at anytime read in a 2 day period.
Can any changes be recommandsd to get a better setup?
There is a chance one of the parameters for the motor is wrong , it could be set to 1800 rpm instead of the 1200 rpm. That will get check latter today.

I very seriously doubt you can trust the readings taken on a frequency drive with a 337

Use the vfd to display your current readings. Make sure the drive is set to constant torque.

Are you running the drive at 12 to 15 hz? If so, change the sheaves on the gear reduction so the motor is running at max rpm (hz)for the max speed you want the belt. IMO the closer you can run the motor to full rpm the better.
