We are starting to use shielded motor cable on VFD applications as recommended by the VFD manufacturers. Cables are installed in EMT, RMC or wireway. Question is: If the conductor insulation is one of the types in Table 310.16, can that table and associated derating be used for ampacity calcs as if each cable is just 3 current carrying conductors?
