Violation! Lighting attached to vegetation for 30 years. What happens

Yes the tree grew around it. Romex buried 2 inches to the house. Came across this on a hime I'm replacing the service on.

Take a look at 410.36(G). The cable is required to be protected from damage.
“Outdoor luminaires and associated equipment shall be permitted to be supported by trees.” Ok, I never knew that. Supported by trees it says. News to me, but I note it does not say embedded in trees?….Have to look closely, half the fixture including the j box has been overgrown by it. Hence the bent shroud.
I just thought it was a cool picture lol. Maybe the NEC board would like to see this.

As evident in the photo a tree will grow around objects attached to them. At 30 years old the installation has probably reached its end of life and needs to be replaced. It wasn't embedded when installed so at the time attaching the luminaire directly to the tree was code compliant.
