Voltage at disconnect higher that at breaker.

the bed calls for 1 phase 208

208v at breaker.
230v at line side of pullout disconnect with bed disconnected.

feeder is about 40’ long run above the drop ceiling.
any thoughts.???
i have yet to look in the ceiling.

Try measurement again, perhaps with a different meter?

Buck/boost transformer in the ceiling?

As Digger suggested a transformer somewhere. The few beds that I've hooked up all needed 240 volts not 208.
