Isn't there a requirement for a barrier in a switch box to separate conductors of different systems? For instance a 277 volt switch and a 120 volt switch occupying the same two gang box.

Presuming you mean two circuits from two different phases, that is correct. They would have 480 volts between them.So you cant have 2 different 277v lighting ckts in one switch box?
