We have a 120/208 system, our specs require the minimum value of insulation shall be:
R in megohms = (rated voltage in kV + 1) x 1000/ length of cable in feet
I have asked both the Electrical Supervisor and Foreman what the 'rated voltage' is and they don't know.
We are 'guessing' its the rated voltage of the conductor ( we were megging 500 and 600 kcmil rated 600v) or 120v line to neutral or ground and 208 phase to phase.
Are either of these 'guesses' correct?
