Voltage Configuration

We are working on a proposal that comes out of a company within Canada. It is for a mobile military application. The customer has specified the input voltage as 120/240/600VAC. The 120/240VAC seems applicable, but not not the 600VAC. Can you clarify?

I would recommend asking the customer for clarification. What are they trying to accomplish? Are you designing a piece of equipment and they want to be able to plug it into a receptacle at whatever voltage is available? If there can be slightly different versions of the equipment for different voltages, then you could probably design for one voltage and include a small transformer in the versions for the other two voltages. If it has to be exactly the same regardless of the supply voltage, then you could probably still include a small transformer with field-adjustable taps. You would also have to change the cord, or at least the plug, when you change to a different voltage (assuming, of course, that it's cord-connected). It's really hard to say more than that without more information. But that might be top secret. ;)
