We had a service call today at a hair cut shop for symptoms as the following: Strobe lights when the washing machine comes on, or the microwave. The appliances will stay on for a short duration and then go off, or simply not function; i.e. the microwave will time out but not heat up. Some hair dryers do not heat up (they are all 120v single ph items).
At the panel, (120/208 3 ph) we have 135, 105, 136 (a, b, c) and ph to ph is 211. At one particular outlet there is 140v. There is no bonding jumper within the panel, although there may be one within the disconnects lineside of the panel (we will view in the am).
My thought was that the xfmr was "bad" for some reason, secondary xo not bonded, damaged by lightening, whatever. However, the POCO came out and their readings were correct: 120/120/120 to N and 211 ph to ph.
All the shops in the strip mall are experiencing the same symptoms.
Since we cannot open it up and dissect during normal business hours, we will be returning in the am to do so.
Any thoughts and expertise is appreciated.
