voltage drop

I will start by saying that I have never had to figure anything out having to do with voltage drop. Occasionally I have upsized conductors.

Just curious, when figuring the length of a run when doing calculations, what do you use as starting and ending points?

Transformer and first OC device?

What if the run you're calculating begins 3 panels downstream from the main?

That is why people often separate the VD into two components: the feeder drop figured based on the calculated load is feeding and the branch drop based on the calculated branch load.
For multiple subpanels you just calculate each feeder separately.
If you are looking for light flickering instead of total VD, you just use the intermittent load current all the way along.
