Next question is it a feeder or SE. 4 wire vs 3 wire. Details.

Since it is a barn, wouldn’t you use four wire to carry the ground to keep the ground potential down? I know many older barns only carried 3 wires and used their own ground but, have heard that introduces more problems.
Of course, if you only needed single phase in the barn, that would help.

That is a design consideration.

Dairy barns are the place where problems seem to be the worst. We are talking dairy barns with at least some automation and not your "hobby farm" where they are hand milking the cows. Most other applications the only thing that is causing much problem with stray voltage in the areas where animals may be present is the presence of electric heaters to prevent freezing of the watering units.
