voltage leaking to ground

I was working in a jbox demoing out some wires and got a little tickle from the metal box. My Glow stick glowed on the metal pipe and the light fixture. At the panel it does not glow. The light fixture is being fed from a extension box mounted on the Jbox. The wiring is the old cloth wiring and crumbles when you move it. My thought is that there is a bad connection on the neutral conductor in that light and it is leaking to ground. And because I have the extension box removed the ground path is removed and I got the tickle because my hand completed the path from the extension box and the jbox. Any other thoughts

I use a ticker instead of a glow stick. On some of the real old houses I can touch it to the wall and it will go off.
Yes, alot of leaking going on.
