I thought I would provide a service for any who may be taking the Washington State Master Electrician Test, Major Calculations portion. It is a 2 hr. test with 10 questions, you must correctly answer 7.

My test had questions such as:

1. Calculate the Load on a service for a X unit multi family using standard method
2. Calculate the Load on a service for a X unit multi family (Standard)
3. Solve a duplex using optional method (Very tricky)
4. Solve another duplex using the optional method (as if one was not enough)
5. Calculate the load on service for a industrial commercial building with two tenants, various track lighting, X amount of receptacles, some refrigerators, water heaters, motors, and 6 arc welders with 40% duty factor.
6. Solve Overload protection for an Instantaneous Breaker for a Feeder feeding 2 X HP single phase motors, 1 X HP single phase motor and a X HP single phase motor rated for 5 minute intermitant duty.
7. How many 15 amp general purpose lighting circuits for X by X building.
8. How many 15 amp general purpose lighting circuits for X by X building.
9.What is the VA load for a x by x building
10 I think two of those (What is the VA load for a x by x building)

Does anyone see any trick questions other than the duplex calcs?

Be Careful. You probably signed a document or agreed to terms of the exam stating that you will not disclose any information found on the exam or will not remove any information from the exam....
