Customer has 1 jelly jar in his walk in cooler. He bought a 1 x 4 surface mount LED light and wants to replace the jar with the 1 x4.
I haven't read the lights application rating, but from what he described it's not for a wet or damp location.
Any comment or suggested article I should read?

This comes up from time to time and it is my opinion that the inside of a walk in cooler is not a wet location. It is the driest place there is.

The jelly jar is likely there because of health code concerning food storage. If the LED fixture is shatter proof I would see no problem installing it.

So if I don't put the lense cover. Then it's ok by health code but not by installation.
I think I'll get him another jelly jar.

Lens cover is probably not something likely to shatter. With similar fixture with fluorescent tubes you likely are required to cover the glass lamps with either a lens, tube guards, or use teflon coated shatter resistant lamps to comply with food handling/health codes.
