Anyone have any insights on walker duct they would be willing to share w/someone who has never even seen walker duct :-?

I have some walker duct to install...new to me

What kind of installation are you doing. New duct within a poured slab? Existing duct?

Stake and tie it down good or it will float during the pour. That can end up being a catastrophe.

A salamander and a spray bottle of water will help a lot in finding the openings when it's time to trim.

The fittings stink (IMHO) so take your time, cut it nice and make sure you get the fitting on as best you can. They sell this black goop to seal the fittings 'concrete tight' I think it is worth while.

Once we would get into place we would take a wheel barrel load of cement and dump it on each set of stands to hold it place for to keep it both from floating and being moved by the donkeys doing the floor.

If the floor is getting a finish over the cement just fill some of the cups up with sand/dirt and bit of diesel. They will show up as stains later.

Oh yeah, if you setting it on dirt as we always were you will want some patio blocks to place under each set of stands.

I guess it goes without saying but get the elevation right, check and recheck. We would use a laser grade stick.

It makes for some interesting troubleshooting and repair work if floor stripper used on VCT gets into it. ;)

New construction, dirt/ 3/4 QP stone...eventually it will go between a teacher's desk and a "smart board".... x a few locations
