Wall Box Recommendations for 14-50A Receptacle

Hello! I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a wall box they would use when installing a 14-50A receptacle? If the wall box is too small, the torque value on the wires decreases when shoving the receptacle into the wall. This can lead to a bad electrical connection. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you!
 
Several come to mind, depending on the application.

New or old work? Construction type? Wiring method?

Hello, thanks for responding! The plan is to install an EV charger for residential use. It will be installed inside a garage. Other than that, there is no constraints. General purpose would be best, though.
 
A 2-gang box suitable for the environment and compatible with the wiring type.

We're actually prohibited from directly helping DIYers by the site owner.

I understand! I am not a DIYer though. I am an engineer designing a 50A receptacle and I am looking to get input from electricians on the types of boxes they would use for this type of applications so that I can identify my constraints as a designer and make a product that is easy to wire and install! If you cannot advise, I understand. Thanks!
 
There are already boxes designed for Range outlet wire in residential applications. At the point of needing engineering for these applications it would be more useful to build a UL listed box with load shed already build in with CTs on the house main so that they could be installed in applications where a new service would be needed otherwise.
 
Are you using #8 or #6 wire? The 14-50 can be implemented as a 40A or 50A receptacle. I think the 4" square 2 1/8th deep is fine when using #8. With #6, it is tougher to squish it all in and the 4 11/16 is better.

You already stated you had a 14-50 receptacle, no need to re-design it. I think enough boxes have been recommended.
